Tim and Brian at foodbank

October Volunteer Days

Tim and Brian along with the other 164 participants rolled up their sleeves and contributed time and energy to help sort and distribute over 157,000 pounds of food and resources, reaching every single one of Michigan’s 83 counties.

Volunteers helped to pack Kids Snack Packs, boxes filled with nutritious and kid-friendly food items. These packs are a lifeline over the weekend for many children who face food scarcity at home.

In a seemingly monumental endeavor, participants took on an 800-pound block of frozen sweet potatoes, carving it down into 400 manageable bags of delicious Michigan sweet-spuds. They were up to their elbows in macaroni, fresh produce, not-so-fresh produce, shampoo, and so much more.
