ACF Donation to Southside Community Kitchen

In November, the Southside Community Kitchen was one of ten organizations throughout the state of Michigan to be awarded a Feeding the Future Grant from the Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Agent Charitable Fund (ACF), which has a mission to end childhood hunger in Michigan. This grant awards Michigan nonprofits with programs aimed at combatting food insecurity among Michigan children, families, and neighbors in need. Organizations are nominated by local Farm Bureau Insurance agents and selected by a committee of ACF donors based on the need of the organization, population being served, and overall goal of the program. Preference is given to requests that directly purchase and distribute food in the community.

Brian Songer and Tim Barry, of the Barry and Songer Agency, nominated Southside Community Kitchen and recently awarded the kitchen with a $2,000 Feeding the Future Grant. Funds will be used to purchase food for neighbors in need at all ages and stages.
